CUTLINE INFORMATION: In one of the closest finishes in NASCAR Sprint Cup racing, Ron Bouchard beat Darrell Waltrip and Terry Labonte by a mere foot in a classic three-wide finish in the 1981 DieHard 500 (now Aaron’s 499) at Talladega Superspeedway. The No.47 Race Hill Farm’s Buick that propelled Bouchard to victory that day is currently on display at the International Motorsports Hall of Fame and Museum in the Bill France, Sr. building.

The win was Bouchard’s first and only in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series competition and catapulted the rookie driver to Rookie of the Year honors.

Admission to the International Motorsports Hall of Fame and Museum is $10 for adults, $5 for kids age 7 to 17 and free for kids age 6 and younger. Combo packages that include both tours of the museum and Talladega Superspeedway are $12 for adults, $8 for kids age 7 to 17 and free for kids age 6 and younger. The museum is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., 7 days a week with the exception of major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day and Easter).
