Steve Skipper Commissioned By
International Motorsports Hall of Fame
and Museum

TALLADEGA, Ala. – The International Motorsports Hall of Fame and Museum (IMHOF) announced today that it has commissioned renowned artist Steve Skipper to produce collectible prints of Hall of Fame inductees.

“Steve Skipper is one of the most collected and sought after artists in Alabama,” said Talladega Superspeedway President and IMHOF Executive Director Rick Humphrey. “Some of his University of Alabama and Auburn University prints are in very high demand. So when the opportunity presented itself to bring Steve onboard and have him begin producing prints of the Hall of Fame that we could share with our fans, we gladly accepted. We believe this will help us better share the legacies of the many great personalities enshrined at the International Motorsports Hall of Fame and Museum.”

Bobby Allison, one of the first Hall of Fame inductees to have his likeness captured by Skipper said he is honored to be one of the first drivers chosen

“My racing career has been filled with a lot of highs and some crushing lows,” said Allison. “Remembering the victories, the fans and Judy’s great strength and support makes it worth it all. I am very honored to be included in the series of paintings and prints that will honor me and my fellow Hall of Fame inductees. This great painting called “The Gladiator” brings back stirring memories of the price you pay to be one of the best. To be in the first part of the series with Davey is also a very special thing to me.”

Skipper has received formal commissions from such coaches and athletes as Gene Stallings, Ray Perkins, Tommy Tubberville, Olympic Gold Medalist Vonetta Flowers, NFL greats; Doug Williams, Steve Bartkowski, Ozzie Newsome and PGA legends Hale Irwin and Jim Dent.

Several organizations have also commissioned works by Skipper including Legion Field, Davey Allison Enterprises, Bobby Allison Racing, the Regions Memorial Classic, the Alabama Sports Foundation, the Tiger Woods Foundation and most recently, the International Motorsports Hall of Fame and Museum.

The series of IMHOF prints will be sold exclusively on the QVC Network beginning in 2009 with two new prints being offered each year. For more information on Steve Skipper and his work, please visit www.anointedhomesart.com.

Admission to the International Motorsports Hall of Fame and Museum is $10 for adults, $5 for kids age 7 to 17 and free for kids age 6 and younger. Combo packages that include both tours of the museum and Talladega Superspeedway are $12 for adults, $8 for kids age 7 to 17 and free for kids age 6 and younger. The museum is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., 7 days a week with the exception of major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day and Easter).
