Since 1983, the International Motorsports Hall of Fame has been the home to some of the most historical motorsport artifacts. We like to think that Talladega, Alabama is to motorsports what Canton, Ohio is to football.
The induction ceremonies at our prestigious venue have enshrined the best women and men in motorsports. We honor the achievements and celebrate each individual’s accomplishments in our Hall of Fame. After years of neglect, the IMHOF is working diligently to resume induction ceremonies to honor the icons of motorsports.
The History of the FOX Sports 1 Dome
In 1996, the International Motorsports Hall of Fame created a new date, new site, and opened a brand new building to the public for our Annual Induction Ceremony. The inaugural event in Talladega would unveil the 37,000 square foot FOX Sports 1 Dome, the largest building at the Hall of Fame complex and the largest indoor event center east of Birmingham. The dome can host as many as one thousand guests for a sit-down dinner.
On Thursday, April 25, 1996 the induction ceremony took place and attracted a record attendance. Up until 2013, induction ceremonies have taken place at the FOX Sports 1 Dome and were guaranteed to be one of the motorsports’ highlights of the year.
Rent the FOX Sports 1 Dome for Your Next Event
The International Motorsports Hall of Fame allows the option to use the FOX Sports 1 Dome as a rental facility on non-race race weeks. With multiple rental options available to the public, our event facility can provide you with everything you need for your event! This includes tables, chairs, P.A. System, and can even include a museum tour for your special event!
Since the FOX Sports 1 Dome has made renting the facility an option, it has become a popular event location to the public.
In the past, we’ve hosted concerts and performances by big names like Eddie Money, 38 Special, The Boxmasters featuring Billy Bob Thornton and Don Felder. We can do everything from fundraisers and football game watch parties to fancy galas and wedding receptions to trade shows. We hosted a high school prom this past April, which goes to show that the possibilities are endless.
