Tickets Tables Available For 2007 International

    The 2007 class of inductees to the prestigious International Motorsports Hall of Fame is a constellation of racing’s finest achievers, and businesses and individuals alike are urged to purchase tickets and tables today to secure reservations for their induction on April 26, 2007.

     “After announcing that we were awarded management and oversight of this historic Hall of Fame, it became our immediate priority to make the 2007 Induction Ceremony an event truly worthy of this year’s esteemed honorees,” said Talladega Superspeedway Vice President/General Manager & International Motorsports Hall of Fame Executive Director Rick Humphrey. “We can assure everyone it will be an evening to remember, and we hope everyone will join us that evening in welcoming Junie Donlavey, Ray Hendrick, Jack Ingram, Warren Johnson, Wayne Rainey and Bruton Smith into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame.”

     In addition to the six inductees, the International Motorsports Hall of Fame will honor the 2006 Driver of the Year Jimmie Johnson.

     The 2007 International Motorsports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will include a welcome reception, dinner and the induction ceremony.      This year’s class of inductees is dominated by four luminaries best known in the segment of stock car racing, including drivers Ray Hendrick and Jack Ingram, team owner Junie Donlavey and racetrack developer and promoter Bruton Smith. Adding more diversity to the class are Grand Prix motorcycle road racing great Wayne Rainey and Warren Johnson of NHRA fame.

     “This induction ceremony was created to be a first-rate event – – a fitting tribute to the biggest names in the world of motorsports,” Humphrey said. “With the track’s new role in the International Motorsports Hall of Fame, we hope to both preserve and improve upon that tradition.

     Talladega Superspeedway officials are preparing to welcome back fans for its first races of the 2007 NASCAR season during the Aaron’s Dream Weekend, featuring the Aaron’s 312 NASCAR Busch Series and Aaron’s 499 NEXTEL Cup Series races.  Friday, April 27 will feature The Birmingham News Qualifying for the NASCAR Busch Series.  Saturday, April 28 will feature The Birmingham News Qualifying for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series and the Aaron’s 312 NASCAR Busch Series race.  Then on Sunday, April 29, NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series drivers will compete in the Aaron’s 499, the ninth race of the season.
