JC Agajanian was known for his skills as a race promoter and he organized some of the most iconic racing events in American history. He was instrumental in bringing the Indianapolis 500 to television in 1961 and organized the first-ever USAC/CART Indy car race at the Ontario Motor Speedway in 1970.

2. He Was An Owner Of Winning Race Cars

Agajanian owned several successful race cars, including the “Agajanian Special” which won the 1952 Indianapolis 500 with driver Troy Ruttman behind the wheel. He also owned cars that won the Pikes Peak Hill Climb and the Baja 1000.
